1. Our company and these terms
Catch.Fast is operated by Catch Fast Limited, a limited company incorporated in Hong Kong, with Business Registration Number 80352950. Our registered address is Flat D07, 8/F, Kai Tak Factory Building Stage 2, 99 King Fuk Street, San Po Kong, Hong Kong. “We”, “us” and “our” refer to that company. Catch Fast Limited is your contracting party and seller, including where a partner helps register or hold a domain.
These terms apply when you register an account or place a backorder or bid. Please read the relevant domain listing, price and confirmation before committing. The applicable registry’s rules also govern the domain registration and transfer. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data; acknowledging it is not consent to unrelated marketing.
Mandatory law takes priority. These terms govern our service, together with the specific price, deadline and delivery conditions disclosed for your transaction. General FAQ guidance does not override these terms or your statutory rights.
2. Your account and authority
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement. If acting for a company, you must have authority to bind it. Provide accurate contact and billing details, verify your email and keep your information current. You must meet the eligibility requirements of the relevant domain extension.
Protect your login details and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. Do not share an account to evade limits, create misleading identities or use another person’s payment details without permission. We may request proportionate verification where needed to protect an account, payment or transfer.
3. Backorders and allocation
A backorder instructs us to attempt to acquire a domain when it becomes available. Success is not guaranteed: the existing holder may restore it, another service may acquire it, or the registry may change or cancel its release. Listing a domain is not a promise that it will drop or that it is free from third-party rights.
You may cancel a backorder before its displayed deadline. After that deadline it is committed under our normal service rules, subject to any mandatory cancellation rights. If we acquire it and you are the only qualifying customer, you must pay the agreed backorder price plus applicable tax. If multiple customers qualify, the domain enters an auction. No acquisition fee is charged for an unsuccessful catch or a domain awarded to someone else.
System-selected domains may also be offered at auction. Backorder capacity and bidding limits are shown in your account and do not guarantee an allocation.
4. Auction bids and timing
Our auctions are online auctions. Eligible users may participate even without a prior backorder. A confirmed maximum bid is a commitment to pay the final winning price, up to that maximum, plus applicable tax if you win. It is not an instruction to charge your entire maximum where the final price is lower. Under our normal bidding rules, accepted bids cannot be reduced or withdrawn; mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Bids must be positive whole USD amounts and meet the displayed minimum and your available account limit. Proxy bidding raises the public price only as needed, up to your maximum. For equal maximum bids, the one accepted first takes priority. Your private maximum is not displayed to other bidders.
The shared bidding limit is occupied by your private maximum in auctions you are leading and by the winning price of unpaid auction wins. Being outbid or paying in full releases the relevant reservation. This limit is not a deposit or a payment.
The auction start day is excluded. Auctions normally end at 14:00 UTC on the fifth following weekday, Monday to Friday including public holidays. A bid that changes the public price or leader in the last five minutes extends the end to five minutes after that bid. Extensions may repeat. Increasing only your own leading maximum does not extend the auction. The current server-recorded deadline and accepted bids determine the result; a browser countdown is an aid.
We may pause or review an auction affected by a material technical error, fraud or a registry restriction. We will explain a material correction and will not invent bids or change a completed result merely to obtain a higher price.
5. Prices, tax and payment
Backorder and auction prices are in USD and exclude applicable tax. The invoice shows tax and the total before payment. We currently accept payments through Stripe. Stripe processes payment and can calculate tax; Catch Fast Limited remains the seller. Your bank may charge its own fees or currency conversion costs.
We issue one invoice per awarded domain. Payment is due within seven days of issue, as shown on the invoice. If it remains unpaid beyond seven days, further backorders and bids are blocked until payment is completed. Beyond fourteen days, the account is subject to a ban. Contact us promptly about an incorrect invoice or payment problem.
We may withhold delivery while payment is outstanding, reversed or subject to a genuine fraud or payment dispute review. A disputed payment does not automatically prove wrongdoing. Unpaid awards may be cancelled after notice, and the domain retained, offered to another bidder or sold again. Any lawful recovery claim must account for amounts already received and avoid double recovery.
6. Who holds the domain before transfer
Every domain acquired for this service is initially registered with Catch Fast Limited or a cooperating company as the registered holder. Until delivery is completed as described below, it is a platform-held domain: the registered holder and the registration rights remain with that company. You are not registered as the holder merely because you requested, won or paid for the domain.
As between you and us, the right to become the domain holder passes only when both conditions are met: (1) you have paid the full invoice, including applicable tax, and (2) the domain has been transferred to your designated registrar/account and any required change of registered holder to you or your authorized nominee has been completed under the registry’s rules.
“Ownership” here means the contractual registration and control rights in a domain name, subject to the registry’s terms, renewal requirements and third-party rights. It is not an unconditional or perpetual property right, and it does not include a trademark or any former website, content, email or business.
Full payment gives you a contractual entitlement to delivery under these terms, even while the registry still records us or our partner as holder. Our temporary holding is not a right to sell your paid domain to someone else while we are required to deliver it. Where a cooperating company holds it, we remain responsible to you for arranging the agreed transfer.
7. Transfer codes, TAGs and completion
After payment has been confirmed and the domain is eligible for delivery, your invoice page shows the available transfer code, requests a receiving registrar TAG, or shows the current processing status. Registry locks, verification, partner processing and the receiving registrar can affect timing.
For a transfer-code domain, initiate the transfer at your chosen registrar using the code provided. For a Nominet domain, provide the correct receiving registrar TAG and complete that registrar’s acceptance and holder-change process where required. A registrar change and a holder change are different operations: changing a TAG alone does not necessarily change the registered holder.
An invoice marked paid, disclosure of an Auth-Code, submission of a TAG or acceptance of a transfer request is not itself confirmation that the transfer is complete. Completion depends on the actual registry/registrar records and the required holder change. If the platform display and those records differ, contact us so we can reconcile them.
You are responsible for accurate destination details, keeping the transfer code confidential, cooperating with necessary checks and paying any separately charged receiving-registrar fees. Tell us promptly about an incorrect TAG or failed transfer. After completed delivery, ongoing management, renewal and registrar charges are your responsibility.
8. Transfer promptly; no renewal service
Catch.Fast is an acquisition and delivery service, not a customer-facing domain management or renewal service. Transfer your domain promptly once it is available. Keeping it in our delivery queue does not extend its registration period or create an automatic renewal obligation.
If a paid domain is still held with us sixty days before expiry, we will send a transfer reminder to your account email. Keep that email current and monitor the domain’s expiry yourself. Contact us before expiry if you cannot complete transfer. Subject to our delivery obligations, any agreed extension and mandatory law, an untransferred domain may lapse at expiry; we do not promise indefinite holding or renewal. Temporary holding does not authorize arbitrary forfeiture of a paid domain.
9. Cancellation, refunds and consumer rights
Our ordinary cancellation rules are stated above. They do not remove statutory rights to cancel, withdraw, receive a refund or obtain a remedy for a service that is not provided as agreed. An online auction is not automatically exempt from consumer withdrawal rules simply because it is called an auction, and a domain acquisition is not automatically exempt simply because it is supplied online.
Where a statutory cooling-off right applies, its period, starting point and any exception are governed by the applicable law. For example, qualifying EU/EEA consumer distance-service contracts generally have a fourteen-day withdrawal period from conclusion. Where the law requires an express request to start early or a separate acknowledgment before that right can be lost, general acceptance of these terms does not replace it.
To exercise an applicable right, send a clear cancellation or withdrawal statement to [email protected], identifying your account, domain and order or invoice. You do not need to use prescribed wording. We will explain the applicable process, deadlines and any lawful charge for work already performed. This contact method does not replace any additional method required by law.
If we cannot deliver a paid domain as agreed, contact us to arrange the appropriate remedy, including a refund where required. Approved refunds go through the original payment channel where possible. These terms do not authorize us to keep payment for an undelivered domain without a lawful basis.
10. Fair bidding and lawful use
Do not manipulate auctions, place sham bids, collude, evade limits or attempt unauthorized access to other accounts, private bid limits or transfer codes. Do not abuse our APIs or bypass security and rate limits. Use only interfaces and credentials you are authorized to use.
You must assess whether acquiring or using a domain infringes trademarks or other rights. We do not guarantee its legal suitability, search ranking, traffic, revenue, past use or resale value. Registry dispute policies and lawful court or regulatory orders can require suspension, cancellation or transfer of a domain.
11. Account restrictions and disputes
We may restrict an account or transaction for overdue payment, a material breach, credible fraud concerns, security risks or a legal requirement. Where lawful and practicable, we will explain the reason and provide a way to contact us for review. Account closure does not erase outstanding obligations, completed purchases or statutory rights.
We will handle paid but undelivered domains according to the transaction, payment status, registry restrictions and applicable law. A restriction or dispute is not, by itself, a right to confiscate payment or a paid domain. Contact [email protected] with the relevant domain and invoice for assistance or a complaint.
12. Service responsibility
We will perform our service with reasonable care and skill. Domain release and transfer depend in part on registries, registrars and networks outside our control. We cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or a successful catch, but remain responsible for our own contractual obligations and conduct.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for speculative resale profit, anticipated traffic or other indirect commercial loss that was not reasonably foreseeable. Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, deliberate misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability or consumer remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Governing law and courts
These terms and our contract are governed by Hong Kong law. The Hong Kong courts have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory right you have to bring proceedings elsewhere. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of protections or jurisdiction rights that the law of your place of habitual residence makes mandatory.
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern. This does not restrict a complaint to a regulator, access to a court, or any mandatory dispute-resolution process.
14. Changes and contact
We may update these terms for future use and transactions. The revision date appears above. Material changes affecting an existing account will be communicated where required; we will obtain renewed agreement where necessary. We will not retroactively change the agreed price or remove an accrued right merely by publishing an update.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent lawful. For questions or a copy of the terms relevant to your transaction, email [email protected] or write to our registered address below.
